"Doctor Holocaust is a villainous gentleman who, above all else, is trying to take over the world."

Drop It

So here’s the thing. I know a lot of people that deal with stress. And, being a super villain, I’m one of those people. So I got a few tips that I use to help keep myself under control and I thought that I’d share em with you today. Now I have to warn you, these tips may not even work for you. Mainly because you are not me and these are things that work for me. So yeah. There’s that.

1: Learn to let go.
Very often people will say things like “don’t sweat the small stuff”. And that’s a good philosophy but I don’t think that it covers everything. There are a LOT of very big things that you need to not sweat about. Thing like pollution and world hunger. If you are even a little bit of a visionary like me then these sorts of things bother you on a day-to-day basis. But here’s the thing… you can just let that stuff go. Now, I’m not saying “stop caring about them” and I’m not saying “stop doing things to help”. I’m saying “stop worrying”. You can still recycle and cut down on energy use. You can still donate to needy people. But if it’s a thing that you can’t directly resolve in some way then stop worrying.

2: Find a thing you like to do and do that thing.
I know it sounds simple. And most people think that it should be really simple but you’d be surprised at how many people don’t practice it. It’s like healthy eating. We know we should do it but we just never get around to it. So find a few activities, things that make you happy or calm you down, and have them at arms reach within your home. And at least one available on the go. Then, when you start feeling stressed, take 15-20 minuets to breathe and collect your sanity. Don’t have time? Make time. A 15 min break is not gonna kill ya.

3: Live a little
So I’m not a huge fan of social situations of almost any kind. But, despite hating people as much as I do and despite how uncomfortable I get being outdoors and being in clubs… it feels good to get out every once in a while, have a few drinks and dance like crazy. Just go nuts! Take a risk! Terrorize a city! Blow something up! Whatever! HAVE SOME FUN! One of the best ways I’ve found to get the kinks out of my system is with something like this, whatever it is. So the small quiet things are for everyday stress. This kind of thing is for general overall stress.

So there it is. This is not all the things I do to keep the stress low. And these things may not even help you. But I thought I’d share ’em anyway.

I’m trying to get caught up on your blog posts by reading them in chronological order, but the button for the next article only points back to the main page. the link to go to the last article works just fine on the other hand.
